[comp.windows.x] Keyboard sensitivity

gerry@frc2.frc.ri.cmu.edu (Gerry Roston) (05/13/91)

I am running X11 on a SparcStation 1+. I also run SunView.
My question is this: Under X11 i tend to get more double
character typos than under SunView. Since X11 is all software
controlled, I was wondering if there is a parameter I can
change somewhere to result in fewer double characters.

Thanx!

Read this paragraph from the Xsun manual page:

     -ar1 milliseconds
This option specifies amount of time in milliseconds
before which a pressed key should begin to
             autorepeat.

So you just need to specify a larger value for -ar1 when you start
your server.
