I got a warning message when I open a xterm window. The warning message is
as follow.
Xtool kit warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "black"
What I did prior to open this new window was that I added some more line to
rgb.txt in /usr/lib/X11. I just wonder do I need to do anything else ?
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I did update my rgb.dir and rgb.pag the only thing I didn't do was restart the server. Thanks for your help. By the way my version of X is X11R3.

Xtool kit warning: Cannot allocate colormap entry for "black" What I did prior to open this new window was that I added some more line to rgb.txt in /usr/lib/X11. I just wonder do I need to do anything else ? You don't say what version of X you are using, so I'll assume X11R4. (One should ALWAYS give this information when asking for help.) You didn't update the "compiled" version of the database, rgb.pag and rgb.dir. The best way to do this is to go to the source directory for rgb.txt, mit/rgb, and edit the file there. Then do "make install" and restart your server. < Stephen MIT X Consortium
