[comp.windows.x] Is there a Table Widget?

jgraham@crc.sofkin.ca (Jay Graham) (05/29/91)

I have seen some discussion on the net about a "table" widget but I did
not take much notice of it because I didn't need it. Now, a co-worker
requires (would like) a widget that can contain many columns (and rows) of
numbers and has the ability to scroll vertically and horizontally with
the column headers being maintained properly while scrolling.

    1) Can the "table" widget do these things?

    2) If so, how can he get the table widget?
              - cost
              - medium
              - how to implement/use it
              -etc.

    3) If not, what would be the next best thing?
              - painfully, use scrolled window and a list
and manage the first list item as column
                headers.
              - DrawingArea widget = redraw or XCopyArea

The HW/SW configuration is:

     - HPUX on an HP9000-425
     - X11R3 and Motif 1.0

Any help would be appreciated.
