Awhile back, someone was flaming away at badly written x programs and they said something like: "some programs even still require that the pointer be in the window before they can get keyboard input". Well, I've tried to solve this problem for months now, and I still can't figure out how to get keystrokes into my program when the pointer moves out of the window. I know that I'm just a stupid beginner (:-)) but I just can't get this one to work right. Now, of course, its not a simple program: My simple test program using xlib works! I'm running under R3, using the intrinsics and Motif 1.0. I have multiple toplevel shells that each has a scrolled window child that owns one drawing area as a child. the drawing areas get the input and display it. (this is a terminal). The input is gotten through a Motif Callback for the drawing area. I would greatly appreciate knowing the magic trick that removes this annoying problem. -- Brook Schoenfield bschoen@well.sf.ca.us "How can technology be used to create a peaceful, well fed world?" - burning question
