This isn't really the right place to ask this, but.... The Sony NEWS laptop (you'd need a very tough lap, but it's still an awesome machine) has a very nice X interface to a CDROM player. Does anyone know how to persuade it to work with an Apple CDROM drive? xcdp didn't seem to be able to access it through the default device driver, and trying to mount a cd hung first the mount command and then, after I did an ls on the drive (which did spin it up at least) the machine. Anyone have any ideas? -kee
