We are trying to run the x client on a VAX 8650 running VMS 5.4 with the server on DEC 5000/200 workstation. The clients we are trying to run are the example programs from DEC so feel they should at least start and open a window, but no. We get the message resulting from a failure to open the display. We have tried setting the display with $ set display/create/node=matia.cs.wwu.edu but this doesn't seem to help. We feel the problem is probably something very simple that we don't know and we don't have access to the documentation. Can you help. Also, is there a source for documentation (read cheap or free source). Lastly, does anyone have some hints on using the ADA package for X that comes with VMS 5.4. I'm specifically looking for some help to output data from an ADA program to an X window. Yes it would be easier to get ADA for the workstation, but $$. Thanks in advance for any help great or small.
