Hi, I'm a relative novice at this, so bear with me. I've upgraded our
Sun 3/60's, and Sparc Station 1+ to OS 4.1.1, and now am using Openwindows.
I wanted to start compileing and running some of the public domain
software for X-windows, and ran into the (apparently) standard problem
of having everything in the wrong place. So, I decided to try compiling
the X-windows X11R4 software, including whatever bug fixes are listed
the the uunet ftp site.

The problem is this, make World works fine, but
the make install gives me an error when it gets to the stage of making
server/ddx/sun. The error is "Don't know how to make sundev/cg6reg.h".

Has anyone else run into this problem, and/or have any suggestions?

I'm doing the make on a Sparc station 1+. I have set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to
null, and I installed all the bug fixes I had.

Any help would be appreciated. Private e-mail, or the list is fine. My
address is: vampyre@milton.u.washington.edu or ehwd@uorpas.bitnet.

Thanks,
eric
