I have received 30 responses to my question of 3-4 weeks ago about the advisability of creating net.os, all were in favour; many agreed that having O/S stuff in net.unix-wizards was preposterous. I hearby call on The-Powers-That-Be to create a net.os or net.opsys. The few people who expressed a preference suggested net.os. Some have suggested that net.os.unix, net.os.vms, etc, might be a more reasonable organization for current (or demanded) groups, but, given inertia and history, I suspect this is unlikely. I suggest that the description in the list-of-lists would be: net.os Discussion of Operating System Principles/Features (If TPTB require a list of those who voted, I could produce this, but suffice to say that it covered the U.K. to Australia, Bell to Cornell) -- Usenet: {dalcs dciem garfield musocs qucis sask titan trigraph ubc-vision utzoo watmath allegra cornell decvax decwrl ihnp4 uw-beaver} !utcsri!mason Dave Mason, U.
