lidl@eng.umd.edu (Kurt J. Lidl) (06/07/91)
[Please bear with me -- I'm 600+ messages behind in this newsgroup, so if this topic has gone 'round recently, don't flame too much. I *do* read the group, but have fallen behind...] I recently tried my hand at getting a quick port of xterm (X11R4, of course) to compile under a SysVR4 system. Being new to the SVR4 world, but a old hand at BSD type systems, I find that significant things are different. I tried various things in terms of making the compiler use the BSD compatibility libraries, the straight-up shared libraries, etc... No go. Has anybody done this already? Are you willing to share any changes? If not, can you at least hint at the changes that need to be made... (If people send E-Mail I will summarize in 2-3 weeks. If you post your responses, I doubt I will summerize. Please e-mail...) -- /* Kurt J.
