I have heard rumours about an interactive flight simulator that uses the X Window System. According to the rumours, it allows a user to "fly" a plane through the Grand Canyon, but also to "see" other users who might be flying in the same region. In addition, communication can be established between those "flyers",etc. Is this simply wishful thinking on someone's part or does such a simulator exist? If so please email me specifics as I don't follow this group. We are investigating new methods for education at one of the DOE labs and this has some potential for problem solving and maintaining student interest as well as allowing group activities.
