[net.news] The del^H^H^Hrename of newsgroups

george@sysvis (06/06/86)

This is a list of the groups which comprise 80% of the volume of USENET.
The first two groups alone comprise at least 10% of the volume.

Now, here is my proposal. None of the sites which I talk to has anyone
who is interested in microcomputers in any way, so we can delete those. No
physicists, or space-people, engineers, or programmers, so we can put all
of these groups except travel, tv, auto, and books (we like those here) into
a separate group. We are going to call it "nerds.all". Since we will no
longer be carrying all that nerd stuff, we can save beaucoups of resources, and
EVERYONE will be happy. Gosh, I called all the places we exchange with and
none of them cares, so bye for now. Consider it done. Y'all let us hear
what's new and where you be goin' on your vacations.
