[comp.windows.x] Xterm software for IBM PC clone

schultz@halley.est.3m.com (John C. Schultz) (06/11/91)

I am looking for Xterm emulator software which would run on a 286 or
386 PC clone. I need to run this over a serial line so something like
SLIP or PPP would also be required.

Thanks.

How to include the taste of Glendronach in a multi-media system?

 Some Ideas, (maybe not solutions)
     1. A company called Xinetron (1-800-345-4415) is selling a "package",
 you can purchase a Novell 2000 clone (xinet-321) and X-Windows + TCP/IP
software for about $175.00 (We're getting one to try it out ... 30 day money
 back ....)

     2. From ACCUVAX.NWU.EDU (I think, check Archie) you can get a piece of
software which allows you to turn an XT into a bridge. It's called PCBRIDGE.

The advantage of this is that you can setup many X-Terminals and all can use
 the same SLIP line.

Total cost involved is in the range of $400.00 (assuming you must purchase
 the XT)

Let me know what you find. I'm interested in setting up something like this.
(That's why we're getting the board to test (1))

 Good Luck
