Thank you for the responses. One problem I forgot to
mention in my original question, I am working within
the server, so most of the protocol requests do not
help me.
The original question was:
Having a child/subwindow and knowing the top-most
ancestor window id (under the root window but not
including the root), how can I find the top-most
window's width and height?
From within the server, QueryTree and GetGeometry
do not help.
The information available:
child's drawable
top most ancestor's window id
I do not have the child or ancestor window structures
or any screen structure.
I do have the master WindowTable and the master ScreenInfo
that I could use, but I am reluctant to use these because
of the potentially vast size.
