How portable is a Motif application between Unix and VMS? From a user interface standpoint, is it feasible to develop under Unix with that target platform for the client being VMS? Also, Is VMS Motif at the same release with its Unix counterpart? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Most programs should port pretty easily. The things that will cause you problems are those which the X spec says something like "for POSIX based systems ... otherwise it is implementation defined". For example, the function XtAppAddInput does not take the same arguments as it does on most any other platform I have seen. |> Also, Is VMS Motif at the same release with its Unix counterpart? The version that DEC supplies on VMS is often more up-to-date then the version DEC supplies on Ultrix or SunOS. They are reasonably close to eachother though, and should work together. - Marc -- =========================================================================== Marc Evans - WB1GRH - evans@decvax.DEC.COM | Synergytics (603)635-8876 Unix and X Software Consultant | 21 Hinds Ln, Pelham, NH 03076 ===========================================================================
