[comp.windows.x] Help with Input Synthesis Extension

I am interested in using the XTEST capability. In particular, "xtmexecute" and
"xtmrecord" to playback and record test scripts. In order for these functions
to work properly, the Input Synthesis Extension must be in place. I have
discovered that the Sun server in the standard distribution of X11R4 does
NOT support this extension.  In addition, I have determined that it is
non-trivial to add the extension. It appears that some device-dependent
code must be written. Has anyone succeeded in adding this extension and 
getting the Client Exerciser in the XTEST utilities up and running?
