[comp.windows.x] Hands on Learning Tapes

wbrand@krishna.shearson.com (Willy Brandsdorfer) (06/26/91)

Does anyone have any experience with the Hand on Learning Inc. training tapes
for X windows. I believe they have a Unix series as well.

Thank in advance,

I'm replying to your query about the X Videotape set. I'm particularly
qualified to do so, since I wrote them!

Hands On Learning sells two Volumes of X tapes: *An Intro to X*, for folks
who are entirely new to X11, and *Programming Xlib*, a soup-to-nuts
course on programming Xlib. The products consist of 6 hours of videotape,
floppies that include a pile of Xlib source that is examined on the tape
and modified by the user in lab exercises, workbooks (include the entire
script), and the appropriate O'Reilly books.

We also have UNIX and C tapes, and resell various DOS tapes.

Motif is under development.

All have been very well received - people like them!

Since it is inappropriate to use the net for advertising, I'll leave it at
that. However, for more info & demo tape (no charge), call 1-800-875-9133.
