Greetings, I wonder if somebody out there can help. I am trying to get hold of T. Roells famous X386 server for some PCs running SystemV.R3 (Interactive flavour). Easy if I had FTP access but....I don't have ftp access so ... Ive had a look in the simtel-20 archives (via a trickle server) but could'nt find it there. Ive tried using the ftpmail server but I don't seem to be getting a very reliable response. Any suggestions ? -- dave g jones -------------------------------------- Mail : mlgtw!mltga!djones@ihlpa.att.com

Turned out to cost me about $10 with a 9600 baud modem. I'm not sure if the BBS will get you to the archive site in Germany, but it might. Anyway details: The World BBS. Please find a full description in any UNIXPUB list. 617 - 739 - 9753. Get your credit card handy. Cost $5.00 per month + $2.00 per hour. Once you get in, ftp gatekeeper.dec.com (go in as anonymous) cd ~/pub/X11/contrib (I think) get (binary) 386ix* /tmp/386ix* (or whatever) bye sz 386ix* and wait for an hour or two. I'm just a customer, but I think this is the way a REAL BBS should be just as UNIX is the way a REAL OS should be. (You get anything a fully networked sun has with access to Alter-net, Euronet, Near-net, plus... ) Enjoy!
