This will be my final posting on the HD stuff, since I'm at my depth. The HD gurus may now take over. Basically, I added some printf's (printk's) to the driver to say what messages it was receiving and what status returns it was getting from the HD. The results were: Read always works. Write functions for ca. 10 blocks, then the controller returns status = 255. Then the driver receives a message from -1 of type 2 with parameters all 0. After which it steadfastly refuses to function, doing 3 retries, getting a -1 message as above, then returning an error. (Bug report: mkfs doesn't check for error returns from writes.) ++Brando -- Brandon S.
