In addition to your comments regarding compatibility: I have uncovered several errors in the HD driver as distributed in xt_wini.c. I have communicated these to ast and will await his reply as far as distributing the fixes. Some rather major changes were made to the driver to accomodate differences in timing and to fix some coding errors. Since simply distributing the source won't get most folks up and running, I thought that ast might like to get the changes and integrate into anything he is working on then perhaps consider other means to get the driver in runnable form out to people. I'd be happy to work out things individually, but don't want to post a wad of sources to the net just yet. Also, if ast recompiles it, you get a shorter driver than if I compile it. I have been running my modified driver for about a week now, and so far not a single error. I was getting about 100 errors a nite before. It also needs trying on other brands. A friend has an RLL controller that will be used to test it further. My controller is currently the WD1002S-WX2, by Western Digital. Gary Oliver ...!hplabs!hp-pcd!orstcs!go
