[comp.os.minix] ignorance about minix and EMS boards.

I am totally hardware illiterate, hence this question: How much
of EMS is software controlled, and how much hardware ? Can MINIX cope
with the Intel clone I am considering buying ? Will I need to cook up
a device driver for it ? Can I ? Is there a written spec that would
help in this process ?

MINIX will cope by ignoring EMS. A very useful enhancement to the RAM
disk driver, however, would be EMS support. This would not even be very
difficult. Too bad I don't have any EMS. An EMS RAM disk would give
another 240K for programs. You could even run a second user.
