Note 1: The hard disk drivers in the distribution can't hack drives that have
an odd number of sectors per cylinder because this splits a 1K MINIX
block over two cylinders. A fix is being worked on.

The machine is fairly new and proclams that it has an extended video bios when it self tests (I don't remember if the older D's do that or not). Anyway, it exhibits rather strange screen behavoir. The screen will blank during scrolling and will refuse to show anything until you have scrolled all the way to the top, when everything you have typed shows up. Strangely, mined seems unaffected. I have made available for anonymous FTP on bugs.nosc.mil the comp.os.minix articles that seemed to be of substance, especially posted code. They are saved in pub/Minix under their Message-ID, e.g. 637@cod.uucp . Access by chronological order may be obtained by looking in directory pub/Minix/ArticleNumber where links to the messages are named by 4-digit article numbers. pub/Minix/compatibility will contain my most up-to-date compatibility list. If you don't have ArpaNet access, talk to a neighbor who does.
