I have heard that there is a MINIX news group on CompuServe although I don't know anything about it. If any reader of this group also reads the CompuServe group, could you please post a message telling what is going on there. It would be nice if the two could be gatewayed somehow :-) If anyone has any thoughts on the matter, please post them. Andy Tanenbaum (ast@cs.vu.nl)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but gatewaying ANYTHING with CompuServe may be more trouble than it's worth. CompuServe has a very strange concept of copyright (basically they claim that anything uploaded to their system is their copyright!), and the service agreement states "Customer will not reproduce, sell, publish, or in any manner commercially exploit any information obtained through the Service...." Now obviously many people "commercially exploit" the information (otherwise why would anyone use the Stock Quoting service?), but why risk potential legal hassles over the "reproduce" part of the agreement? -- Steve Barber Rabbit Software Corp. ..!seismo!cbmvax!hutch!barber ...!ihnp4!cuuxb!hutch!barber (215) 647-0440 7 Great Valley Parkway East Malvern PA 19355

Of course, there are USENET messages in the Data Libraries in groups such as the BPFORUM of all places. -Ron
