Well, in theory, this list/newsgroup is now automatically gatewayed
to/from Internet/BITNET/USENET at my host, udel.edu. Initially there
was some trouble getting the messages to BITNET, although they were
received just fine. Then, the gatewaying was done manually for a while,
which is why you saw my name (galvin@udel.edu) on some messages.
So, contributions can either be sent to the USENET newsgroup or to the
Internet address "info-minix@udel.edu", whichever is convenient for you.
Requests to be added to the Internet mailing list should be sent to
"info-minix-request@udel.edu".
Requests to be added to the BITNET listserv list can be sent to either
"info-minix-request@udel.edu" or directly to one of the following BITNET
listservers: NDSUVM1, IRISHVM, DEARN or FINHUTC.
The archives present a problem. I do plan to keep a copy of all messages
that appear, but messages to date have been lost due to circumstances
beyond my control. This shouldn't happen in the future :-).
The disadvantage is the BITNET side never saw any of the 1.2 diffs. I
had stated at one time that I would send the diffs there, but unfortunately
I don't have them. Several others have asked to have certain diffs
resent because they either didn't receive them or lost half.
I would like to propose the following. Andy should be returning in another
week. I have copied him on this note so I can ask him to send to me all
of the 1.2 diffs. I will then place them in the archive and will send
them to the BITNET side of the list. Others looking for reposts of
specific diffs can send requests to "info-minix-request@udel.edu" and I
will send them directly to you after receiving them from Andy. I assume
it will be obvious when Andy has returned so you will know when to expect
to receive the diffs. My apologies to the BITNET side for the delay.
Please, don't anyone try to post the diffs to the BITNET list "MINIX-L".
I am the ONLY one who can send them and be sure they stay only on BITNET,
ie. do NOT get sent to the rest of the world.
