I'm a new user of Minix, I just received my copy of Minix 1.1
this week. Before I start asking questions a quick note to
Andy Tanenbaum. Thank You, Minix is just what I've been looking for!
I have just a few questions:
I'm using a AT&T 6300 (not a the Plus) and everything seems to
work fine. However, I can't seem to access the hard disk.
Rather than making a file system I tried accessing the disk
using the disk dumper command (DD) to determine if the canned
Minix 1.1 wini driver could access my disk. Well it seems it
can't. Was this the correct command to determine if the
drivers work? The disk controller is a DTC 5150BX ( or 5051BX).
Before I attempt to redo the driver, has anyone ported the
driver to the 6300, or a machine is this DTC controller?
Last question. I understand the lastest version of Minix is 1.2.
How would one go about obtaining the update? Can I get them here
on the net?
