I have seen a few messages about people having trouble running minix with ega's attached. I also have the same problem, I am running an ATI ega wonder with an ecd display. The screen will stop displaying characters although you can see the cursor move, and the system still works fine. It is like driving blind. It even happens when using mined. My guess is that it has something to do with the assembler code for horizontal blanking, the ega does its own at the chip level. I would like to hear from someone that has another explaination, or a fix for this problem. Thanks don o'connell

I too am interested in the fix for the EGA. Does version 1.2 fix the
problem or does it need to be patched also? I would appreciate it if someone
would send me the patches for version 1.1 to fix the EGA problem if the patches
are known and not part of the 1.2 diffs. If 1.2 fixes the problem than would
someone please inform me so I do not duplicate the effort. Driving blind
is more than just annoying.

I have had similar problems with a CGA emulator, namely the Amiga/Sidecar interface - anyone know the fix for Screen blank-out in this situation? Bruce Becker Humber College Etobicoke, Ontario
