I am trying to port MINIX 1.1 from XT configuration to AT configuration. - The AT is 512K, 8Mhz ,30 Mega-bytes, (true blue). - I recompiled "kernel" with at_wini.c as wini.c, - build a new "image" with the new "kernel", - defined a 290 cylinders partition (# 10 Mega-bytes, from block 0, this partition will be dedicated to MINIX) - define a DOS partition from 290 to 732 blocks - made a mkfs for 2000 blocks on the minix partition, (For test purpose, I prefere to be on safe side). Everything run fine, except ( :-} ), if I try to copy files to hard disk (cp /bin/* /disk1/bin), after a while, I got "Winchester wouldn't reset, drive busy", during hard disk acces, once I got that; all acces to rigide generate the same message. If I reboot, I am able to see (copy) and acces all the files on the disk (at least until I try to copy again!). I wonder if the trouble could be cause by the controler which could be differente on this AT version, or by the clock (8 Mhz), or by anything else ?????. If somebody on netland, has already resolve this probleme, please help me. By the way, I seen, few months ago, all the "diff files" between MINIX 1.1 and MINIX 1.2, what is the way to receive that again? Many thanks. PS: Sorry if the answer is obvious, I just receive MINIX few days ago. PS^2: I repost that message because of troubles in the previous message adress.
