Yet another hard disk problem: A friend of mine is trying to install Minix on a Club AT with an Everex (30 Meg) hard disk. Problem we are stuck at: when we access the hard disk (whether by mkfs or dd), the first couple accesses go through, then we hit a series 'can not reset controller' errors. The controller is i/o port compatible with the IBM AT controller, and there are no bad sectors on the disk. We're stuck - any help would be welcome. Say, what's a mountain goat doing - Poncho the faithful sidekick up here in a cloud bank? aka fluhrer@mandrill

I have noticed similar problems after setting the date using the date -q command. Try removing this from your /etc/rc file. This is not necessarily the solution to YOUR problem, but it seemed to work for me. Phil Miller pcm@ogcvax
