I just noticed that I had two messages with the same contents which had arrived via different paths, so I took a closer look. Here are the two headers. ----- Path: cuae2!ihnp4!chinet!hcfeams!sks From: sks@hcfeams.UUCP (Sam Spitzner) Newsgroups: net.news.b Subject: Problem with inews. Message-ID: <267@hcfeams.UUCP> Date: 21 Oct 86 16:30:56 GMT Organization: ARSB support, Illinois Bell, Chicago, IL Lines: 17 Keywords: Won't update "active" file. ----- Path: cuae2!clyde!rutgers!husc6!mit-eddie!ll-xn!cit-vax!nike!sri-spam! sri-unix!hplabs!sdcrdcf!ucla-cs!rutgers!princeton!allegra!ulysses! cbosgd!cbatt!ihnp4!chinet!hcfeams!sks From: sks@hcfeams.UUCP (Sam Spitzner) Newsgroups: net.news.b Subject: Problem with inews. Message-ID: <2357@curly.ucla-cs.ARPA> Date: 23 Oct 86 18:49:21 GMT Organization: ARSB support, Illinois Bell, Chicago, IL Lines: 17 Keywords: Won't update "active" file. ----- As you can see, the message-id was mangled somewhere along the line. (ucla-cs is my suspect, for obvious reasons!) Anyone at ucla care to comment?
