I have the same problem with test5. Sometimes it would run to completion, sometimes it would hang. If it ran to completion the first time, it would always run to completion. My kernel is already heavily modified, so I was sure whether it was what I did or the distribution. test5 looked pretty simple -- I haven't traced it yet. I figure a signal may be getting lost someplace.
