I recently ran the test "dd if=/dev/hd0 of=/dev/null count=1000" to see if the hard disk on my NCR PC-8 would work from MINIX. The test passed with flying colors. I was able to re-format/re- partition my drive and run without problems. The most recent listing of MINIX machines I have (REF: Minix Information Sheet from AST on 23 FEB 88, Subject MINIX announcement) shows MINIX running on the PC-8 but not with the hard disk. The only difference that I know of in my pc versus a factory stock is that I have a WREN 1 (control data) drive instead of the usual SEAGATE. -- --------------------------- ...tIM dAVIS (Tim.Davis@Wichita.NCR.COM)
