In my eagerness to tell you about the capability-based protection for MINIX I overlooked some very important acknowledgements, and I would like to rectify this omission straight away, and at the same time express my sincere apologies to the people without whose help I would not have been able to undertake this research project: Firstly, I would like to acknowledge Hatfield Polytechnic, England for the provision of facilities enabling me to develop this software. Secondly, I would like to acknowledge Roger Oliver, Lecturer in Computer Science at Hatfield Polytechnic, not only for giving me the initial idea for this research project, but also for providing me with invaluable support and assistance in the achievement of this project. The project constituted part of my BSc Degree in Computer Science at the Polytechnic and forms part of a continuing research program at Hatfield Polytechnic into capability-based protection. In the opinion of Roger Oliver, who has acted as my supervisor on this project, work is not complete. Further developments will be undertaken by the Polytechnic and any enquiries relating to these or the software referred to in my earlier note should be addressed to Roger Oliver at Hatfield Polytechnic.
