You may remember my message announcing
that you could get a vadic triple modem
with integral autodialer for $75 over
the usual price.

I am now happy to tell you that it requires
NO software changes to cu or uucp to be able
to use it! You just need a long L.sys line for uucp,
and for cu, you just talk to the modem and dial
by hand. Granted, it would be nice if the software
was fancier and did know about the vadic dialer,
but you can get on the air without it.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that you need to run the
extensions to uucp that allow you to send out control
characters and lines not terminated by newlines while
negotiating the connection. You can get that from us
at Rand.

>From vadic, you order a 3451PA, `A' for `autodial',
or if you have a recent enough vadic, they will upgrade
it for you for $160.
