[comp.os.minix] test5 bug revisited...

[This is a reposting: as I explained elsewhere, I think I was posting
stuff to the wrong place - please ignore if you've seen it before!]

John Bunda & Marty Leisner both reported erratic behaviour by test5: I
can confirm this too. I rebuilt V1.2 from scratch (on an Amstrad 1512,
if anyone's interested) a couple of weeks ago and got exactly the
symptoms described by Bunda - i.e. test5 hung first time around, I
killed it OK with del, ran it directly and it worked, and thereafter it
ran OK from within the script. This was with V1.2, direct from the PH
distribution (incidently, all the rebuilt executable files came out slightly
different sizes from the distributed versions: anyone know if this is
significant? - I'm guessing the distribution was built on PC-IX and this
explains the discrepancy).
