Hi me again:
I got my copy and I read some, an dfelt I was ready to
boot up MINIX 1.1 but what should happen but the following:
The menu came up fine but wheboot up MINIX I get an
Unexpected trap: vector <16
pc=0x362A text+data+bss= 0x9a00
And when I try any of the other menu selections I get :
Bad magic numbetr in super block
fatal
This seems serious to me! I have a Packard Bell 80286 with cga and
1Mb (expanded and extended, I think, but truth be known I dont know
what those terms really mean). Is there any person out there who has
ported MINIX to such a machine? Or perhaps these errors are fixable
(I think that I could use another computer running MINIX to edit if
necessary/possible) and someone else knows the meaning? I would
appreciate any help.
BTW due to mail problems I have now made it possible to mail me at
Kinch@uwovax.uwo.ca
This should clear up most problems I think, If I didnt reply to you
last time you mailed me it was because I never received your mail,
sorry!
