From: Douglas A Gwyn <gwyn@utexas-11> Date: 21 May 1982 at 1718-CDT When one uses the UNIX "mail" command to forward messages, if the text contains a line beginning "From" then it is prefixed by ">" in order to avoid looking like a message header to "mail" at the receiving end. (At least, the System III mailer works this way.) I believe this to be acceptable behavior, since no message should contain TWO "From..." lines. Sorry if your mailer is broken. -------
