Problems in getting Minix 1.2 onto a 40meg hard disk with DTC-5150crh controlle t. Equipment Configuration: DTK-10Mhz, Herk Graphics, DTC-5150CRH controller and S T-251 40 Meg. hadr disk. Disk setup: 2 partitions, 20Meg each. 4 sectors per cluster. Problem: Minix can only find the first partition (/dev/hd1). Limited to 10,300 blocks (approx). will not write to /dev/hd2. With all partitions removed, will only access /dev/hd0 - still limited to 10,300 blocks. wini.c points to 0x1c6 for disk partition information - it is not there - text messages from the dos boot header. fsck - has been fixed for 6 disk heads. does work - part of the time. A fix was reported by jel@cheviot.newcastle.ac.uk and werner@nikhefk.uucp Cannot locate these postings. Any suggestions where to start looking or what has to be done to get this system to fly?
