I have the floppy driver posted to comp.os.minix >recently. We haven't completed the port as yet. This is because of several reasons: 1) We have been waiting for a final version of Minix 1.3. This has only been available for the last couple of weeks. 2) We still have a few fatal problems with the TTY driver. This is our major stumbling block. We have spent very little time on the port, probably less that eight weekends during the summer. We haven't tried doing any real debugging of the TTY driver yet. 3) And the biggest reason of all, the lack of time. It's been three months since we've even looked at our code. This past weekend, we have been getting ready to upgrade out 1.1 sources to 1.3. We already had a nonstandard 1.2 (for Turbo C), but to keep our changes to a minimum, we felt we needed a standard 1.3. This took a long time, and could take while longer if we had decided to wait for the PH upgrade kit (due about Feb). So we are now about read to create a 1.3 version of Minix. After we get to 1.3, we will apply our changes for the Slicer and fix and remaining problems. To be optimistic, this could take several months. -Paul Dickson Possible Addresses: Dickson%pco @ BCO-Multics.HBI.Honeywell.COM If that fails try: Dickson%pco @ BCO-Multics.ARPA
