One of P-H's main distributors claims there is a manufacturing defect in MINIX-ST (Atari version). I am not sure if this is true, but if it is, it is a disaster. I would greatly appreciate it if everyone who has an original set of MINIX-ST disks from P-H (not beta releases, copies, etc.) would please do the following: 1. Copy fsck and sum to RAM disk. 2. /etc/umount /dev/fd0 3. Run fsck on all the original disks that are MINIX file systems. 4. Run sum on all the disks. 5. Send me a message telling whether fsck found any errors, whether sum was able to read all the disks without error, and the sums. Time is of the essence. If there really are problems, I want to find out fast before they have distributed more. On the other hand, if there are no problems, I also want to know. Johan is away, so I can't ask him to help. Thanks. Andy Tanenbaum (ast@cs.vu.nl)
