I've just started using MINIX this semester in school and I've been having some problems. 1) I tried setting up a new file system for user accounts but, when a user logged on to the new account the password file became corrupted. I added the new accounts in the same format as the ones that came with the source and also tried to follow the format in the book. Does anyone have any idea why this might happen? Is there a special way the passwd file needs to be added -- like many UNIX systems. 2) I'm using version 1.1 and was wondering how I go about getting an upgrade to the latest version(s). 3) Any hints for a beginner would be appreciated.
