I've got now RS-port etc working on my Minix-ST and today I called a local BBS because I wanted to test cu. It all worked well (but slowly) until after some time (5 min?) cu just stopped working. Didn't send, didn't receive, no nothing... Only way to get out of it was CTRL-ALT-DEL. My carrier didn't drop so I continued to read messages after rebooting. And it happened again after some time... And again. Has anybody had similar experiences? P.S How do you exit cu? I will be soon reposting rs232 and kernel fixes to get a stable rs232 base distributed. cu commands: the meta key, <tilda> becomes active after a <RETURN>. <RETURN><tilda><command><RETURN> is the sequence. if command is a period <DOT> cu will disconnect. -- not if keyboard is locked up. command ! will execute a command on minix command $ will execute a minix command, and send its output to rs232. SPEED PROBLEMS: Combining common sense with notes from Evans, I now have cu running full speed. and xmodem upload and download at 2400 baud as fast as TOS. There may be hope for MINIX yet. Howard C.
