Now that we are getting warm with the PS/2 problems, it would be nice if there were someone who could help with the testing/debugging. Is there anyone who has a Model 50 or 60 in the same building as a machine that can run MINIX (i.e., a PC, AT, or non-PS/2 386) and who is willing to help? What is required is to build experimental systems from code I will supply (on the running MINIX system), and then booting this on the Model 50 or 60, and seeing what happens. No doubt it will be necessary to add some print statements to the code and iterate a bit. Implicit in this arrangement is a way to go from 5.25 to 3.5 inch floppies somehow. At present the only person able to do this is Steve Ackerman, but he has a Model 80. I'd also like to do this on a Model 50 or 60, since they are no doubt different from the Model 80 in totally unpredictable ways. Besides, with more people, we will get it done faster. If you are able to help, please send me mail. Thanks. Andy Tanenbaum (ast@cs.vu.nl)
