I am still getting the "no end detected" failure even after the suggestions from both Sean Kelly and Howard Johnson. I do get an alltar.Z file but it looks like it's truncated. Missing the end of "h.tar" and "sttools.tar". This is the output from "tar t alltar" README 011 tape blocks clock.tar 026 tape blocks cu.tar 01 tape blocks floppy.tar 023 tape blocks fs.tar 034 tape blocks h.tar 056 tape blocks --> Tar: read error. This is the output from "tar t h.tar" screen.h 04 tape blocks h.cdiff 047 tape blocks --> Tar: header checksum error. Ok, I got the same "no end detected" when I uudecode cu and this is the resulting listing of the cu.tar file. "xmodem.c" has the last part missing. Is there anything past xmodem.c that I need also? Makefile 03 tape blocks cu.c 067 tape blocks fcntl.h 02 tape blocks getopt.c 03 tape blocks getppid.c 01 tape blocks ioctl.c 014 tape blocks rec.c 017 tape blocks string.h 01 tape blocks strpbrk.c 01 tape blocks strspn.c 01 tape blocks strtok.c 02 tape blocks termio.h 05 tape blocks xmodem.c 064 tape blocks --> Tar: read error. I'm getting no where fast except frustrated. If someone out there has good versions of what I'm missing and could e-mail them to me OR just post the sections I need one more time. I feel like I'm missing something in all this that is very simple and straight forward. Like banging my head slowly with a hammer :-). thanks in advance, diana eichert INTERNET: eichert%uservx.decnet@ddnvx2.afwl.af.mil
