Hi I need some help with building a boot disk. In attempt to use my XT clone hard disk, with version 1.1 I copied xt_wini.c from the 1.2 disk to my 1.1 kernel/wini.c file. I was told this would allow to use the hard disk so that I could complete the upgrade to 1.2. the kernel compiled fine. However when I executed the build command, I got the following msg after it loaded all of the files and displayed the total size (112k), "Build Kernel data space: no magic#" The boot disk that was created will boot to the point that you type "=" to load the root file system, then it just hangs and never even accesses the a: drive. One thing that I did not do is to recompile the fsck program ?? ( I havn't got past the no space on device 2/0, msg with fsck yet ) could this be the problem ?? Any help would be great, I only have one 360k disk at home and I need the hard disk to get to 1.[2-3]. Thanks in Adavnce Jim Apple WB1DOG apple@nprdc.mil ...}ucsd!nprdc!apple
