[comp.os.minix] Memory limits

Ok this may be a dumb question, forgive me.
  From "THE BOOK" I understand that Minix does not use any virtual memory. How
much memory can Minix use in an '286 machine. Most seem to come with 1 Meg on
the main board, some with 2 Meg or 4 Meg. Can Minix use all of this space?
What about memory on add in boards.
