I need a PD version of sed(1) for MS-DOS. This is for free distribution with a software package that is distributed worldwide, and many copies go to 3rd-world countries that cannot afford commercial packages like MKS. I found one of uncertain origin, but it occasionally adds stray characters at the end of lines. The sed that comes with MKS is fine, but I can't distribute it. The only feature I need is the -f option, since I use it to change code for different compilers. I heard that a version was distributed recently on comp.os.minix, but I missed it. I have access to Turbo C and MS C if the source needs to be recompiled. -- Bill Silvert, Habitat Ecology Division.
