I am running Minix 1.1 (soon to update to 1.3) on an 80386 PC clone
with an ATI EGA card. The problem is: my screen buffer seems to fill up.
From what I can tell, my card doesn't like to be talked to directly
(i.e., no BIOS) and after two or three pages of data, the screen will
still scroll and all, but the characters will not be printed until the
last set of characters that WAS printed scroll of the screen. Then, all
at once, there they are. (Note: I can set my card to emulate any format,
CGA 40 or 80 clm; EGA 40, 80 or 132 clm, Normal or Enhanced).
If anyone has ever had this problem and fixed it, or if anyone can
offer a possible solution and/or kludge; he/she can E-Mail me or post
it here.
