[comp.os.minix] GNU tools on Minix 386

Last week I replied to a message asking about Minix 386 tools
('cc', 'as', 'ld') saying that I planned to work on an 'as' and
'ld' for the 386. A couple of people have replied to me reminding
me that GNU stuff, 'gcc' and 'gas', are well suited to operating
in 32-bit address space. I have two reservations about using
the GNU code:
1) I was hoping for a 386 C compiler that could run under either
   DOS or plain MINIX since I don't have a 386 cross-development system,
   and
2) Could Prentice-Hall sell a MINIX that contained GNU code?
Wouldn't the GNU code really complicate the legal aspects?
