Well the subject should tell most of it. I need a xt_wini.c for my computer (PC-BRAND XT10 w/V20 processor) and a ST11 controller and a ST238R RLL drive. PLEASE!!!!!!!! . Also a few other things. Could someone tell me what exactly the changes are to make Minix 1.3c (The version that is bought from the store) and 1.3{d,e,f}. I have the upgrade for 1.4a but its relative 1.3e or 1.3f (According to ast). Also what does the PC-XT version of Minix have on its disks. I have the AT version for an AT use, but I also want to use it on an XT. So could someone send me a list of what files are on what disks in the PC/XT distribution of Minix 1.3 Any help for any of the above would greatly be appreciated. Especially the first one. +-----------------+---------------------------+-----------------------------+ | Bill Poitras | Polygen Corporation | {princeton mit-eddie | | (bill) | Waltham, MA USA | buita sunne}!polygen!bill | +-----------------+---------------------------+-----------------------------+

The first thing to try is to set the number-of-sectors-per-track constant in xt_wini.c (I think it is NR_SECTORS) to 25. This is all that is necessary for my Adaptec RLL controller/ST238R combo. Yours might require more changes, however. >Could someone tell me what exactly the changes are to make Minix 1.3c >(The version that is bought from the store) and 1.3{d,e,f}. The way I remember it, 1.3c was supposed to be the last set of 1.3 postings; it was to correspond exactly to the 1.3 Prentice Hall release. But before the disks were sent off, a couple serious bugs were found, and Andy had to rip open the mailer he was going to send to PH. The fixes were posted without a version number, and the disks were sent off. Soon after, Vince Broman did his 1.2 -> 1.3 upgrade kit, and called that final, fixed version `1.3d'. This became the de-facto designation for the final 1.3 release. At least, that's the way I remember it. So, your Prentice Hall Minix 1.3 release should correspond to `NetMinix 1.3d', and you can safely apply the `NetMinix 1.4a' patches to it. > Also what does the PC-XT version of Minix have on its disks. It should contain the filesystem prototypes (used by mkfs) of all the distribution disks, both XT and AT. I don't know for sure if it does.
