What is the point of all of these *stone benchmark postings? All you are doing is testing the compiler quality. Why not write a file handling benchmark that sequentially and randomly accesses a number of files? Only use the stock ACK compiler for the tests. This would give an interesting set of numbers for file system performance on different machines.
