There was discussion recently on possible editors, and the 's' editor from 'A Software Tools Sampler' by Webb Miller was mentioned. I bought the book and took a look at the code, which on limited inspection seems clean and well written. (S is 'modelled after vi' - I don't know how closely). There are 60 pages of code, and I don't have time to type them in, so I wrote to P-H and asked for the price of the source code. They (their subcontractor) are asking $50 for one disk containing all the source code from the book; another $5 for UPS Ground; and (in California) sales tax. I declined their offer (well, I ignored it - I couldn't think of a polite refusal) and will type the code in myself by and by. But the chances of getting someone with that outlook to allow the source code to be distributed 'free' with Minix seems small. I've also got a couple of disks on order from the C User Group, (now at 2120 W 25th Street, Lawrence, KS 66047). They have the souce code to quite a few editors of one type and another, and at $8 a disk are certainly cheaper!
